Primrose School of Five Forks Preschoolers Celebrate Independence Day
In anticipation of Independence Day, some of our nation’s youngest and brightest are showing their patriotic pride and sharing their own thoughts on citizenship/patriotism. Primrose School of Five Forks’ students commemorated the Fourth of July at their annual Red, White and Blue celebration on Tuesday, July 3rd. Not only did students have fun parading around with hand-made patriotic arts and crafts, but they have been engaged in classroom activities teaching the importance of citizenship and
patriotism.
Students learn about teamwork, cooperation and following rules as “citizens” of the school and classroom. They also learn about citizenship through activities and books. The citizenship program is part of Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® Curriculum which blends academics, play and character development.
As another way to celebrate patriotic pride and our country’s independence, students were asked to share their perspective on citizenship:
What does it mean to be a good citizen?”
“To follow the rules all the time and pick up trash and use nice words with your friends” John Currie
“To be a soldier and fight for America like my daddy” Zachary Whipple
“To love our flag” Selene Raffanel
“To say your prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance and kind words to everybody” Gabby Espinosa
“To know all about America and take care of it and love it” Laila Bright
“To know George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and be heroes like them” Aiana Macon
“To vote for who the President will be” Tyson Dawson
