Snellville Lions Club Peace Poster Contest Winners

Snellville Lions Club Contest Winners

At their meeting on Thursday, January 17th, the Snellville Lions Club honored Grace Halley, Parvathi Kumar, and Mary Papetti for their achievements in winning the club level of the 25th annual Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest. Awards were presented to the contestants by club president Patsy Spencer. Halley won first place in the local club competition. Kumar and Papetti were this year’s runners-up.  Parvathi Kumar won the club’s first place honor last year.

Participants in the event are asked submit a poster portraying this year’s contest theme “Imagine Peace”, and a statement expressing what that means to them. The local finalists were chosen for their outstanding job of representing this year’s theme. Grace Halley has now won the District and Multi-District (state) levels of this competition. Her poster and statement will be entered into the International level of competition. More than 375,000 entries are submitted worldwide through local Lions Clubs. This contest is sponsored by Lions Club International, the world’s largest service club organization with more than 46,000 clubs in 206 countries.
