Burglars Target Barron's, A&J Jewelers

The attempted robberies took place on the same night.

On September 6, officers responded to an alarm caused by a glass break at Barron's Jewelers at 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two shattered glass panels to the right of the front doors.

Though broken, the glass was still in the frames, according to a Snellville police report.

A short time later, the same officer was notified that an alarm had gone off at A&J Jewelers in the Avenue Shopping Center a half mile away. It was determined that forcible entry had been made.

The owner of A&J Jewelers arrived on scene after being notified of the incident and was able to access the security cameras. The camera looking toward the front door from the inside showed a black male in a running suit and face mask break the glass next to the door.

He did not make entry.
