Everson Endorses Bender for Mayor
Former State Rep. Everson has announced who he wants to win.
Former State Rep. Melvin Everson, who also was a Snellville councilman, has endorsed Barbara Bender in her campaign for mayor.
“I have known and worked with Barbara for years, and I am proud to endorse her for mayor," Everson said in a press release. "Barbara has proven herself as a visionary leader with the ability to get the job done for the people of Snellville.
"Through her vision, leadership and hard work, she has accomplished great things for the city, and I know she will continue that record as mayor. Barbara has my vote, and I encourage all Snellville residents to support her as well.”
Bender, who is running against Kelly Kautz, commented:
“It has been a great honor to work with Melvin over the years. He has done great things for Snellville, and I am proud to have his support. With the support of the citizens of Snellville, I will continue providing visionary leadership to move Snellville forward.”

I agree with Melvin Everson in voting for Barbara Bender. Back when Barbara first ran for City Council, I wasn't familiar with Barbara or her then opponent, Suzanne Kreiger. I contacted Melvin and asked him if he had an opinion on whom I should support. Melvin quickly suggested I support Barbara, adding "She's a very nice lady". Barbara's actions since then have proven Melvin correct. And Barbara's a good line dancer too:)

I have to agree with both of these gentlemen and say that Barbara Bender is definately my choice for mayor of Snellville. Her professionalism and past acheivements as a council member are good reasons for the good people of Snellville to consider joining me in that support. There is no doubt in my mind that Barbara is the best choice to
move our city forward. I would hope that every citizen make an informed choice on November 8th. Snellville is depending on you.

I have just recently met Mr Everson after hearing about him for the eight years I have lived here. His endorsement of Mrs Bender falls right in line with everything I have heard. He is a no-nonsense conservative that wants what is best for this State and his City. If he didn't believe that Barbara was the right person to lead Snellville he would just remain quiet. His endorsement will go along way with his supporters as well as those who are undecided. Congratulations Mrs Bender on earning this man's trust and respect.

As you have pointed out, Melvin Everson's endorsement of Barbara Bender for Mayor speaks volumes. And I am proud to be one of the four City Council members who also endorse Barbara. Thank you Louis for taking the time to notice and to comment about Mr. Everson's endorsement.

There will be more endorsements over the next week I'm sure. By election day it will easier to list who doesn't endorse Barbara than it will be to list everyone who does. There is a reason, Barbara Bender is the ONLY candidate to take Snellville forward. Positive leadership to continue leading Snellville in a positive direction.

I've long ago decided to support Barbara Bender for mayor and I'm particularly glad she gets the endorsement of Melvin Everson. Having a man of his caliber recommending her says volumes about her qualifications and abilities to do a great job as mayor.

Kurt and I have known Barbara ever since she became a council member. She has been the ultimate professional and leads by example. She has always shown the utmost respect for her constituents, the city employees and volunteers. She does not just show up for photo ops, she walks the walk. She is here for the long haul, not to grab a few controversial headlines. She is a quiet , confident leader who will take Snellville up to the next notch of success. She is just what Snellville needs to continue and add to the positive gains of the past two years. It is an honor to claim Barbara as our friend. Thank you for your valued endorsement of Barbara, Melvin.

Six years ago I decided to support Barbara Bender for Snellville City Council and I have not been disappointed and I am PROUD to continue to support Barbara Bender!... After her 6 years of being on city council and more recently the last 15-18 months as Mayor-Pro Tem, I watched our city and citizens reinvigorated with a "Sprit" I knew it had. I watched the Farmers Market spring to life, business development become interested in Snellville again and Snellville citizens that were "PROUD" to be Somebody!... I am "Proud" to live, work and play here and so are many I have met over the last 14 weeks or so I have been out in the community meeting during my bid for Snellville City Council and support of Barbara. I look forward to serving the Citizens of Snellville with Honor & Dignity along with "NEW" incoming council members and colleagues Diane Krause and Dave Emanuel.
