Kroger Announces Massive Spinach Recall

Includes spinach sold in Georgia Krogers.

Kroger has announced a voluntary recall of its Fresh Selection brand of 10-ounce bagged spinach with a use-by date of Sept. 16.

The product may be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, according to their website and, "if eaten, could result in severe illness to those individuals who are pregnant or have a weakened immune system."

If you're fastidious about cleaning out your fridge, then fret not. If you're like me and live on the edge ... get in there and throw it out.

You can always pick up some fresh spinach at the Snellville Farmers Market Saturday!
