LPD and GCPD Involved in Manhunt in Loganville

Loganville police officers assist Gwinnett PD in search for suspect in Loganville subdivision.

For the second time in as many days, Loganville residents found members of law enforcement in a local neighborhood searching for a suspect. This time, however, it was Gwinnett County officials and not members of the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday evening, Loganville residents saw Gwinnett County police cars speeding through the city with lights flashing and sirens blaring - something they were not used to seeing. Residents in Park Place subdivision were then surprised by members of the Loganville Police Department in the neighborhood, reportedly searching for a suspect. Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh said members of Loganville PD were assisting Gwinnett County Police Department in a search for a suspect who had bolted when they attempted to serve a warrant.

"We were just assisting in the search, but it is a Gwinnett County case," McHugh said. "I believe they were attempting to serve a warrant on a kid when he ran."

On Wednesday, residents in Hidden Creek subdivision on the border of Walton and Rockdale counties were unnerved when deputies with WCSO conducted a manhunt for three burglary suspects. One was apprehended, another was identified for follow up action and a third still had to be identified.
