Perseid Meteor Shower: Weather Conditions in Metro-Atlanta

If you stay up late enough, you should get a clear view of the meteors.

It's overcast and humid out now, but by the time the Perseid Meteor Shower really gets going, metro-Atlanta residents should have a clear view and milder weather.

According to The Weather Channel, it will be partly cloudy in Snellville until midnight.  After that, it will be mostly clear until the morning. The temperature will be in the high 60s.

That's great timing, since the light show will peak around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Atlanta Astronomy Club will be headed to Brasstown Bald for the night, in Blairsville, Ga.  The conditions there will be even better; completely clear, high 50s/low 60s.

Another viewing event will be held at Cloudland Canyon.  Again, clear, high 50s/low 60s.
