Poll: Will You Shop at the New Walmart Neighborhood Market?

Lawrenceville just opened its new Walmart Neighborhood Market. Snellville's is just around the corner. Will you go there to shop?

With the grand opening of the new Walmart Neighborhood Market in Lawrenceville on June 20, Snellville's location is next up.

The Highway 78 store is expected to open on August 29. It will be the second in the state, with the Lawrenceville location being the first.

There was much contentious talk during the planning phase, but the Snellville location was approved despite that. Leaders said it would bring productivity to an abandoned eyesore, create jobs and add services for area residents.

Grand opening events have not been disclosed yet by the company.

So, we're asking Patch readers will they even go shop there. Do you think this was the best idea? Take our poll or let us know in the comment section.

Joy, at the same time you are running a "Nominate the Best of _____ in Snellvile" poll, why would you put such a negative poll as this Neighborhood Market piece of worthless journalism on your site?

I can't wait for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and see what kind of hypocrisy Kautz displays, since she was doing everything in her power to keep the Neighborhood Market from locating here.

What's she going to say as she cuts the ribbon, "I tried my best to keep you from locating here but you managed to anyway."?

Walmart gave me a job when I did not have one...they have opened the door for me to many wonderful opportunities.

My only concern with this location is the increase in traffic - it's already bad enough in this are. However, I do believe it's a wonderful solution to the lack of grocery shopping options in that specific area.

Traffic is going to be backed up on Cambridge trying to take a right which is a yield onto hwy 78. Between the cars that run the McGee/Cambridge intersection, the cars turning left off McGee onto Hwy 78 and the cars making the U turn off Hwy 78 it is already bad enough without the Walmart traffic!!

I live behind the Walmart construction that has been going on since the end of December, Monday through Saturday 7am to 7pm. I work nights and haven't slept well at all during the day when my house and windows are shaking. I wanted restitution from Walmart, but they don't give a &%$#!!!!! Selling my house short sale and getting as far away as possible from SNELLVILLE, where everybody is nobody but a buck in the business's eyes!!

I'm really sorry to hear that :( I can imagine that would be difficult to deal with.

I don't shop in the "big box Walmart" on Highway 124, and won't spend my money in this Walmart. Walmart destroys small business, and yes, I am willing to spend a little more to support a local business.
