Screaming Stranger Enters Home, Leaves With $35

The incident occurred earlier this month.

A Snellville resident was so terrified by a screaming man who knocked on his door one night that he ended up giving cash to the stranger in order to leave him alone.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. earlier this month off the 3500 block of Brittany Oak Terrace, near Mink Livsey Road and Lee Road.

The homeowner, 41, told police that an unknown woman knocked on his door and asked for William. He told her there was no William at the home, so she left.

A short time later, a man came up to the door and asked for the same person. The homeowner repeated that there was no William who lived there and no William visiting the house.

According to the victim, the man then kicked the front door open and cursed at the resident, demanding that he tell him where William was.

To prove there was no one else inside, the homeowner gave a tour of his home to the aggressive man. While walking through the house, the visitor said that William owed him money.

"I want my ... money, so don't play with me," he said, according to the report.

The homeowner got his wallet and actually gave $35 to the man, who then left.

The victim told police that the angry man was a black male who was wearing glasses, a striped polo shirt and blue jeans. He never showed or stated that he had a gun, and he never physically assaulted him.

The victime also said that he noticed a dark-colored, two-door hatchback parked in front of his home when the woman left, so he suspects the vehicle belonged to them.
