The Wizard of Oz (Junior) at New London Theatre
New London Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz (Junior): May 14-22, June 4; Saturdays, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Sundays, 2 p.m.
“The Wizard of Oz (Junior),” follows the familiar story of Dorothy and Toto as they visit the colorful Land of Oz and embark on a journey to find their way back to Kansas. Along the way they encounter interesting characters and scary witches. In this New London Theatre production the cast is entirely children, hence the “junior” part of the title.
The production is done in a black box style, with minimal props and no scenery. Dawn Berlo directed this production of precocious young thespians. Together the director and the cast bring inventiveness and creativity. The staging of the tornados is attention-grabbing, to say the least.
So, be sure to follow the yellow brick road to The New London Theatre in Snellville for its current production “The Wizard of Oz (Junior).” The show runs until June 4.
New London Theatre has also announced its summer camps. Go to www.newlondontheatre.org for more information.
