Viewfinder: Story Quilts on Display at Snellville Library

Students from Norton Elementary created paper story quilts, a la Faith Ringgold, as a school art project. The Snellville Library branch hosted an art reception to celebrate the artists, whose quilts are now on display in the children's section.

Approximately 60 second and third grade students from Norton Elementary have their artwork on display in the children's section of the Snellville branch of the Gwinnett County Library.

The art was inspired by the works of Faith Ringgold, an artist and writer famous for her painted story quilts.

Each child created a block of the quilts, which measure 3 feet by 6 feet.

The artists and their families were invited to attend a reception last Tuesday at the library to view thier work on display.
