Was Showing of 'Seal Team Six' Two Days Before Election Political?

People have criticized the showing of "Seal Team Six," the movie about the killing of Osama bin Laden, saying it is an attempt to help the president in his reelection bid. What do you think?

"Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden," a made for TV movie about the killing of Osama bin Laden, was shown Sunday night on the National Georgraphic Channel. Some have said it was an attempt to aid President Barack Obama in his reelection bid.

According to a story in Reuters, however, a TV executive rejected the claims. Although ackowledging that the proximity of the election was not lost on them, David Lyle, chief executive of National Georgraphic Channel, told Reuters that it was shown because it was thought to be of interest to viewers. The movie chronicles the mission to kill OBL, something touted as one of the successes of the Obama presidency.

Supporters of Gov. Mitt Romney have called it a "two-hour pro-Obama campaign advertisement." The Weinstein Company, whose co-chairman, Harvey Weinstein, is reported to be a strong supporter of Obama, distributed the movie. Weinstein was also the name behind the Michael Moore movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," which many believe was conveniently released in an attempt to sabotage George W. Bush's reelection bid. According to TMZ, Moore later sued Weinstein and his brother over profits from the movie.

What do you think? Was the release of the movie "Seal Team Six" just two days before the election an attempt to help Obama in his reelection bid?

It most likely was political. So was the release of the miniseries, "The Path to 9/11", which aired close to the 2006 midterm elections and attempted to lay blame on the Clinton administration for 9/11. In both cases, though, we're talking about independent companies deciding their own programming schedule. It's a bit craven, perhaps, but hardly sinister.

I choose to watch what I want or dont want. No one had to watch it. I have already voted and nothing I watch or see on a documentary would have changed that. If I were to use TV as a means for persuasion in this election, it would have been more focused on the current cover-up going on regarding our four dead Americans in Benghazi, as Washington watched them die all the while refusing to send them available help, that may have very well saved them. That would be worth weighing in my decision.

If it was truly meant to sway voters, it would have been aired after the first debate, not just 2 days before the election. L o w i n f o r m a t i o n v o t e r s are very selective in what they're open to viewing or reading.

I Hope it was, we need something to overcome the media propaganda from FOX , Limbaugh , WGST,, the Wall Street Journal and the millions of dollars that Karl Rove is collecting from the corporations and the Plutocrats. Not to mention the other "dirty tricks" the Republicans are using such as:
1. Voter suppression laws have been passed in many states with Republican dominated legislatures (sometimes these new laws are called Jim Crow lite)
2. Attempts to close traditional voting places in minority neighborhoods
3. Decreasing the number of early voting days
4. The 'Citizens United " decision has allowed huge amounts of money to be given in secret by corporations to right wing Pacs headed by such people as Karl Rove
5. Huge lies being told by the candidates without the right wing media calling them out on it
6. Depriving the Libertarian candidate of a place on the debate stage
7. Employers encouraging and intimidating employees to vote for Romney
8. Subliminal and overt racist remarks by leading Romney supporters
9.Operatives deceiving voters in line with false information
