Woman Accused of Stealing 44 Shirts From Kohl's

The retail value of the stolen clothing totaled to $538.

A Lawrenceville woman was accused of stealing 44 items of clothing last month at a Kohl's in Snellville.

According to the Snellville Police report, the incident occurred around 6:17 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Scenic Highway store.

The loss prevention officer reported that he saw the suspect, Carla Filip, enter the junior's department and approach a display of merchandise. He saw her select 21 tops and proceed to the dressing room.

The officer said she removed the price tags, concealed the merchandise on herself and inside her bag, and left the store. She was stopped in the parking lot and voluntarily went back with the officer.

Even though the officer only saw her pick up 21 shirts, the Snellville police report lists 44 tops were in her possession, with prices ranging up to $44 per shirt. The total cost of the stolen goods was valued up to $538.

Filip was arrested on charges of theft by shoplifting (more than $500) and was transported to the Gwinnett County jail.

I'm glad they caught her! Shoplifting results in higher prices for the rest of us.
