We are pleased to announce the official grand opening of the STRAP Youth Mentoring Program. STRAP is the acronym for Seeking the Right Amendable Path. It is a six (6) month long youth educational intervention/mentoring program developed to give parents, schools and our court systems another alternative to incarceration. The STRAP Youth Mentoring Program is designed, dedicated and focused on building character, teaching responsibility, leadership, and integrity, to give our troubled youth of Gwinnett County the knowledge to empower and equip them in making better decisions and life choices.
There will be an official ribbon cutting by the Mayor of Snellville, Kelly Kautz along with the founder and co-founders of STRAP. The open house with a buffet luncheon will follow after recognition of supporters of STRAP. This event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. , Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the STRAP Center, located at 2704 Duluth Hwy 120, Suite A, Duluth, Ga 30096.

I'm currently in a situation where I'm trying to explain to my son the consequences of his action and despite my military background his understanding and trying to stay on path seems temporary at most until he is hit with the consequences which seems never to be a real fix its like the touching the pot it's hot don't touch and despite the for site and past knowledge still touches, this program is needed since programs like scared straight have been abolished or not used anymore.
