This gives the public a crash course of police procedure in forensics, gun safety, traffics stops, drugs and domestic disputes.  

By the end of the course you will have a good understanding on what the police really deal with and how they do it.

It will meet once a week on Thursday night . If you are interested in this please contact Sgt. Downs at tdowns[at]snellville.org or by phone at 770-985-7216.  A background check is required and run by the SPD.

The Police Station of the City of Snellville is a modern complex, completed in 2011 Police Chief Roy Whitehead oversees an award-winning force of 59 dedicated male and female officers who work together with citizens of the city to ensure Snellville remains a safe, secure and vibrant community. 

A division of the public safety department, the Snellville police offer various community programs for the benefit of the community including the Citizen's Police Academy, a yearly, 10-week program that enables residents to learn how the Snellville Police Department keeps the public safe and enforces local and state laws. The program is free for residents of the city.  Within the police headquarter's building, the force also handles such initiatives as fingerprinting, background checks, alarm registration, vehicle occupant and child safety harness checks, residential vacation checks, record procurement and record expungement.

my name is debra pennington i graduated from the police academy citizens 11th session and it was the best class in snellville. i also was in volved with the citizens police academy alumni and i would like to go back into the meetings of the citizen police academy alumni i would like to find out when the alumni meet. i have left messages with trey downs and emails and he does not return them about the alumni anway my email is penningtond@bellsouth.net and also phone number is 770-982-8119 or 404-545-4460 if i am not there leave a voice mail thanks debra pennington
