Snellville's Amy Robach Announces Breast Cancer Diagnosis

The ABC correspondent will undergo a double mastectomy.

ABC correspondent Amy Robach, who is a Brookwood High graduate from Snellville, announced Monday (Nov. 11) that she has breast cancer and will be undergoing a double mastectomy.

According to the Huffington Post, the diagnosis was discovered when she underwent a mammogram on air during a recent episode of "Good Morning America." After her colleagues encouraged her to get a screening in a "mammovan," she caved and did it, but she admitted that she would not have done the procedure soon otherwise.

"I know that I have a fight ahead of me, but I also know that I have a lot worth fighting for, and I'm so grateful that I got that mammogram that day at 'GMA,'" she said.
