Tour of Dance at T2I School of Arts!

This month Time2Inspire School of Arts' is embracing all elements of Dance for the month of September!!! Upcoming Block Party on Sunday, September 23, 2012!

It’s Arts in Snellville with Lonnie and Alisa Boykin and this week they would like take you on a tour through their Dance Department at Time2Inspire School of Arts located in Snellville, Georgia.  We are currently enrolling in several areas of performing arts and hosting open house events throughout the month of September. 

This week open house for Contemporary /Jazz Dance is underway.  Thursday at 6pm, come and meet Rob Myers, Dance Director of Time2Inspire School of Arts. 

Rob Myers has offered his talents and time as choreographer for the Georgia Falcons "Red Hots" Dance Team, and The Dancin' Divas, who currently hold three 1st place titles, both regional and state level in the Jazz Dance category. Rob served as Men’s Dance Captain for the Pregame and Halftime shows for Super Bowl XXXIII, and had the opportunity to perform with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Cher, Kiss, and opened for Ying Yang Twins, and Ludacris. His theatre credits include: "Dreamgirls", "The Amen Corner", "Life's Greatest Hits" and the "African American Dance Review". Mr. Myers is more than excited to able to offer his expertise to the Time 2 Inspire School of Arts family. This upcoming Fall season he will coach a competition dance team here at the School of Arts, which is sure to take Metro Atlanta by force.

Also on Tuesday, September 10th at 6pm come and join Hip Hop or Audition for The Dance Crew and meet Carl J. who is from Georgia by way of NYC has trained in all performing arts. He has earned a B.A. from GA State with a minor in Theater Arts. Carl has worked with many artists and franchises, some to include Jasmine Guy, GA Lottery, Ludacris, Tony Terry, and WNBA Atlanta Dream dance team to name a few.

His 2012 film credits include being featured and background dancer/actor for Disney's #1 film "Let It Shine" and will have another 3 SAG film releases where he plays a principal dancer and supporter actor in 2. The titles include "Cupid Requiem" in which co-stars Amber Chaney from "Hunger Games" and "Blase", and "Honor Among Thugs" which he plays supporting characters respectively.

2012 credits for stage performances thus far include "Vegas Show" Musical at the Strand, "Sunday Worshipper" at Southwest Arts Center (lead actor) and currently "The Golden Girls" Some of his favorite performances/appearances include GA Lottery Falcons/Eagles halftime where he performed in front of 70,000, WNBA Dream games, and being on "Single Ladies" first season.

Finally, come to class on Friday evenings at 7pm or Saturday mornings at 9am and meet Sherry Harper who is a graduate of the Contemporary Dance MFA program at Case Western Reserve University located in Cleveland, Ohio.  Sherry is originally from Sparta, Georgia and received her bachelor's degree in Dramatic/Speech and Dance from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. During her years as a Fisk undergraduate, Sherry was a member of the university's performing dance company, Orchesis, and she also was one of the first members of the liturgical dance company, PAF Ministries under the direction of Dr. Peter A. Fields. She has performed in many theatrical shows including "God's Trombone", "Smokey Joe's Cafe", "Dream Girls", "West Side Story", and "The Black Nativity" just to name a few.  Ms. Harper has had the opportunity to work with well known dance artist such as, Dianne McIntyre, Gary Galbraith, Sabatino Verlezza and Pascal Rioult among many others.
