Eastside Medical Center & H2U Program to Host Community Health Screening

The event is scheduled Thursday, June 12th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Eastside Medical Center and H2U-Health to You Program is hosting a Community Health Screening on Thursday, June 12th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The screenings will be open to the public and held in Classrooms 1 & 2 on the Eastside Medical Center campus.

The screening will include education on fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, total lipid profile, which includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL, and cardiac risk factors. All screenings range in price from $3.00 to $18.00. Stroke assessments along with free blood pressure checks will also be offered at the screening. Assessments will be done by Charmane Johnson, Stroke Coordinator at Eastside Medical Center.

In order to participate in the screenings, participants must fast from 8 p.m. the evening prior and drink no more than a sip of water to take any required medication. Screening attendees must also provide their physician’s name and location information along with their social security number for identification purposes. All participants are to be reminded to wear short sleeves and that the age requirement is at least 18 years of age to participate. A copy of the results will be mailed directly to the participants and their physicians at no extra charge.
