PRESCHOOLERS DO HOUSEHOLD CHORES AND EARN MONEY TO PURCHASE FOOD FOR THOSE IN NEED

(LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.) Primrose School of Five Forks four and five-year-olds pushed shopping carts, scanned shelves and filled grocery bags with non-perishable foods for the less fortunate families in Atlanta on their field trip to Publix on Tuesday, November 19th.  All purchases will then be donated to the Salvation Army to bring a warm meal to local families in need.

This donation comes when American families find themselves in critical need. The truth is that one in eight Americans struggles with hunger leaving many to turn to food banks such as Salvation Army. According to Feeding America, a total of 36 million Americans struggle with hunger, including 13 million children.

Children at Primrose School of Five Forks have spent the past month completing extra chores at home to earn money for families in need. After combining their earnings, and creating a detailed shopping list for the grocery store, the children were ready to shop! As part of the Balanced Learning® Curriculum, Primrose Schools’ Caring and Giving program helps
students understand the value of generosity and creates a hands-on approach to math, nutrition and planning skills.
