Snellville Entrepreneur Summit a Huge Success

SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- By any objective measure, Tuesday's third quarter Snellville Entrepreneur Summit was an overwhelming success.

According to event coordinator Eric Van Otteren, Economic Development Manager for the City of Snellville, 119 businessmen and women registered for the event that was held inside a packed City Hall.
"This certainly exceeded all my expectations," said Van Otteren. "I'll be very satisfied if we continue to attract this many people. They were a high-energy, fully-engaged group."

Presented by the City's Office of Economic Development in partnership with the Snellville Entrepreneur Council, the goal is to share resources like the SnellvilleBusinessToolbox.com, peer advisory boards and mentoring to support area businesses at every stage of development.

Jonathan Wofford, owner of the internet marketing enterprise Fresko's Media, was the keynote speaker. The topic: "Marketing Your Business Through Social Media."

At the conclusion of each summit, attendees are asked to complete a performance evaluation rating it on a scale of 1 to 4, with 4 being the highest.

Both Wofford and the summit received high marks.

Of Wofford, one attendee wrote, "Excellent presentation. I plan to use the information." Another said, "Great. I didn't realize the potential of social media."

Not an easily impressed group, about 95 percent of the businessmen and women who  completed the performance evaluation gave Tuesday's summit an overall ranking of 4. Three rankings, however were literally off the chart. One attendee scored it a 5, another a 10 and still another a 10+.

Even more gratifying to Van Otteren, 100 percent of those who answered the question: "Would you recommend it to others" responded yes.
Comments received include:

"More than met expectations."
"Great for any level of business ownership."
"Great for the community."
"Very useful and informative."

The next summit is scheduled for Oct. 15 with a 30-minute networking period to start at  6 p.m. If you plan to attend, however, it would be a good idea to register early. There were less than half a dozen empty seats Tuesday.
