Brookwood Graduate Justin Lansford to be Honored as "Hometown Hero"

As part of his busy weekend in Gwinnett, Lansford will be honored during the Gwinnett Gladiators game on Saturday evening.

The Gwinnett Gladiators, in conjunction with members of the official team Booster Club, will honor US Army Sgt. Justin M. Lansford at this Saturday night's game vs. Elmira (7:05pm start) as part of the "Hometown Heroes" program, sponsored by Mister Sparky and News/Talk WSB, according to a recent news release.

Assigned to the 82nd Airborne, Lansford was deployed to Iraq in April of 2010 and Eastern Afghanistan in February of 2012. In April, the Snellville native was injured in an IED attack that required amputation of his left leg above the knee. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

The brief "Hometown Heroes" recognition ceremony is conducted at the start of the 1st Intermission, typically occuring at approximately 7:45-7:50pm.
