Church Unites to Provide Book Bags, School Supplies to Children in Need

Cannon United Methodist Church will once again participate in the annual "Book Bag Benevolence" program.

Children in state care are often in need of clothing, supplies and other items, and a church in Snellville is reaching out to help.

This summer, Cannon United Methodist Church will once again be participating in an annual bookbag and supply drive to benefit the Gwinnett County Department of Family and Children Services.

According to a Patch announcement, from, June 9 - July 14, the church will collect book bags and supplies. There will be a special "Blessing of the Book Bags" on July 14, and then the items will be transported to the National Guard Armory in Lawrenceville for sorting.

Cannon UMC has participated in the program for at least the past 15 years. If you want to help, check the attached supply list, and then contact the church at 770-972-5463 or drop items in bins located at the church's lower entrance.
