Freeze and Wind Warnings on Monday for Snellville Area

Spring is off to a slow start in 2013.

Attention, Snellville. It may be spring, but winter is still in the air.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has a freeze warning AND a wind advisory in effect for Monday, March 25.

The freeze warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday (March 26). And the wind advisory is good until 6 p.m. Monday evening.

Motorists and boaters are warned to be cautious. The advisories read in part:

FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL IMPACT EARLY BUDDING AND FLOWERING VEGETATION. STRONG WINDS CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT. ROUGH CHOP COULD OCCUR ON AREA LAKES...BOATERS SHOULD ALSO USE EXTRA CAUTION. THESE WINDS COULD KNOCK MEDIUM TO LARGE LIMBS FROM TREES AND EVEN BLOW DOWN WEAK OR DROUGHT STRESSED TREES.
