Local Cadets Donate to American Legion

Jr. ROTC cadets from South Gwinnett High School and others in the local area made donations to the men and women currently serving overseas with the military.

For the last two years there has been a a 1-mile fun run at Meridian Park in Loganville to raise funds for the men and women serving overseas in the military. According to Sgt. Christopher Diaz, Army Instructor for South Gwinnett High School's Jr. ROTC, although there was no Fun Run this year, they did not let that stop them getting together donations to send to men and women in the armed forces serving overseas.

"It is an honor to give back to those currently serving," said Diaz.

The group collected items and gave them to the Women's Auxillary in Loganville's American Legion. Cadet Emma Mejia successfully organized the event, according to Diaz.
