Mommy-and-Son Date Night

My son and I had a great "date night" at Snellville Chick-fil-A on Saturday, March 26.

I saw the invitation for the mommy-and-son date night at the on St. Patrick's Day, but due to my standard procrastination, we almost missed our chance to join in the fun. Reservations filled up faster than I ever imagined, because this was the only location around participating in this semi-national event. Why, you ask? Well, I asked, too.

The was such a great success at all the Atlanta area stores, why wouldn't all of them participate in this mother-son event too? Well, Ashley Cameron, director of marketing, said it was up to the individual stores, and Snellville got such a huge response from the February event, that they knew the mother-son event would work well, too.

There were three time spots available for the date night, 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., but by the time I called on Monday, March 21, only 15 spots were open for the 7:30 p.m. time slot and nothing else. I said thank you, but my 5-year old can't make it until 7:30 p.m. for dinner, so better luck next time. But, no, Ms. Cameron was very accommodating and squeezed me in last minute. And, I'm so glad she did!

From the moment we walked in, we felt special and appreciated. We were meet by an employee with a large umbrella outside the store (it was pouring rain), walked through a balloon archway inside, and were greeted by Ms. Cameron, who took our name and walked us right to our table.

Our table was covered in a deep blue table cloth and decorated with candy and a conversation starter card. Our "waiter" for the evening explained the event to us and informed us that pictures and dessert were "on the house." My son was so excited to be in such an exciting atmosphere. To top it off, we ran into one of his classmates from school!

We enjoyed our food, asked each other tons of questions, and saved room for our yummy, free desserts. Then, before leaving, we took our picture in the "picture corner" and opened our goody-bag filled with prizes.

What a wonderful night! I not only enjoyed some delicious, Chick-fil-A food, but I got to spend memorable mommy-and-son- time with my favorite little man.

Thank you Chick-fil-A!
