Patch Helps Reunite Goldendoodle with Family

The dog, Luey, will now celebrate Christmas with his family.

Just in time for Christmas, the lost Goldendoodle Patch posted on Dec. 19 has been reunited with his family.

Diana Aspinwall found the dog on Highway 78 in Loganville. She took him to the groomers and spread the word through Patch and Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta. Despite the fact that the dog, Luey, did have a microchip, the vet could not detect it.

On Dec. 22, Patch reader Matilda Coffey saw a flyer in Loganville that described Luey perfectly. She recalled the announcement, then contacted Patch and Aspinwall, who were able to put the two parties in touch with each other.

"We ... put up signs everywhere in Loganville," said owner Abigail Jennings, "and me and my kids have been heartbroken."

When Jennings saw the announcement on Patch -- which had a total of 123 Facebook shares -- she commented with the following:

"...Thanks to all for these concerned posts. How refreshing to know there are still wonderful people in the world. Merry Christmas to all of you!"

Thanks Patch readers!

People that do not have pets would not understand the impact this has on someone that does. We have 3 elder lady dogs, and they are family. I can't imagine them running around lost.
