Whiz Kid's Accomplishment:
In March, Barton began battling through abrupt complications with a liver immune disorder, and then in October doctors discovered a brain turmor. Despite this, Barton -- his school's football quarterback and a varsity baseball player --remained focused, keeping his spirits and grades up. He also led his football team to a 2010 state championship

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:
Barton had the brain tumor removed in December, and his family said he is doing great. He is back playing baseball already. Michael's grandfather, John Barton, said "I think Michael's key to being awesome, is his competitive nature and desire to do his best while caring about others. He is a great kid."
