Get Out: Your Weekend Planner

Cheer for breast cancer awareness, get help with your marriage, have fun at Snellville's fall festival, and more!

When/Where: October 21-23, opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m., route begins at Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain

Why Go: Sixty miles is a long way. But, participants in this three-day journey, are Friday to show their support for families affected by breast cancer. In a commitment to end breast cancer, they will walk to Turner Field in Atlanta, weaving their way throughout the city. There will be special sections along the route, where you can help cheer them on. Net proceeds from the event will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

When/Where: October 21-22, begins 6:30 p.m. on Friday, , 2400 Main Street E., Snellville

Why Go: This local church will be hosting its Let's Get Real marriage conference Friday through Saturday, with Dale and Jena Forehand's true story of how God brought them back together after they previously divorced. Want inspiration? This couple will certainly deliver. Childcare is included (babies through fifth graders), but it is limited and must be signed up for when tickets are purchased.

When/Where: October 21, 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., just beyond on town green, 2342 Oak Road, Snellville

Why Go: If you love fall, this family friendly event is for you. The Snellville Tourism and Trade Association is putting on this event, which will have something for everyone. There will be live music, plenty of food, fun activities for the kids. Contests for the day include: a kid costume contest, a scarecrow contest, and a cake and pie contest.

Pricing: Entry is free.

When/Where: October 22 and 29, 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. shows, , 2485 Main Street E, Snellville.

Why Go: The New London Theatre's Broadway Bound children's program is presented this show, "Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice." Harry is once again locked in his room, where Dobby and an inebriated Winky come to him with a warning to save not his life but at least his career. And, at Hogwarts things are weirder than ever. So, if your kids like Harry Potter, this should be a special treat for them.

Pricing: Tickets for adults are $10.60, and $2 less for children (under 16 years old.)

When/Where: October 22, 7 p.m., ART Station, 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain

Why Go: Like getting dirty? Here's a perfect opportunity to do so with your significant other. ART Station will be hosting pottery classes on select Saturdays for the rest of the year. This class gives students an introduction of pottery techniques in a fun social environment.Β  While your learning, you also get to enjoy a glass of wine, some cheese and a little music. What's not great about that?!
