When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m., CrossFit ICONZ, 2073 Westside Court, Snellville. 

Why Go: Think yoga is only for women? Think again. CrossFit is having a course that will teach athletes how to gain flexibility and strength for any sport by combining yoga to their routines. The workshop concentrates on ancient bio-mechanic warrior techniques and movement efficiency to decrease pain, improve dexterity and heighten energy levels, among other benefits.

2. Tie-Dye T-Shirts

When/Where: Thursday, July 28, 6 p.m., Mountain Park Library, 1210 Pounds Road, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Start the weekend off with some colorful designs at the library: Just bring a clean T-shirt and they'll show you how to make a tie-dye creation out of it. 

Pricing: Free. 

3. Dog Potty-Training Workshop

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m.-11 a.m., AARF Pet Central, 6570 James B. Rivers Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: A class at Stone Mountain's new dog and cat resource center will allow owners to teach their dogs to use the bathroom through the use of positive, lasting training methods. AARF trainer Lennox Gavin will explain the whole process, and owners don't even need to bring their dogs to the class. 

Pricing: $25. Walk-ins are welcome. 

4. Family Fun Day

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., The Little Shop of Arts and Antiques, 94 Main Street, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Have a fun day in Old Town with birds and art. Locals who stop by can get their faces painted, make tin can paper, and draw their own art. From noon to 1:30 p.m., a Flying Feathers performance will have bird owners showing off their exotic birds. 

Pricing: Free.

5. Passionate Pole Dance Party

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 6 p.m., Pure Passion, 4759 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Pole dancing has blown up as a fun way to exercise for the past few years, so Pure Passion is having a party to teach the ins and outs of the craze. Attendees will do an exotic floor routine and then learn a few tricks on the pole, all while working the abs, glutes and back. Click here for information on what to wear and a list of dos and don'ts.
