Local Georgia Line Dancing Teams Compete at Six Flags

A team from Snellville participated in the Texas Roadhouse line dancing contest at Six Flags on July 26, 2011.

Texas Roadhouse held their 3rd Annual Line Dancing Competition at Six Flags in Austell, Ga.

The contest was held on Tuesday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nine teams from three states participated in the event; four from Georgia (Douglasville, Snellville, Hiram and Marietta), three from Alabama and two from Mississippi. (The Snellville team is featured near the end of the attached video.)

Teams were comprised of eight to 10 dancers, and had to compete in three rounds of vigorous dancing where they were judged on precision, creativity and energy.

Although no Georgia teams placed in the event, all teams put their best foot forward and had a lot of fun performing their routines.

One of the three teams from Alabama, won the contest, and will represent the region in the national line dancing competition.
