New London's New Season Begins

The 2011-2012 is getting started, and auditions and ticket sales are here.

 

New London Theatre's 2011-2012 season is beginning, and it's time for ticket sales and auditions for all the new shows.

Running Sept. 9 - 25, "Steel Magnolias" hits the stage as the first show of the season.

"We all know and love the story (and the movie), but there is something special seeing it played out live and in front of you," theatre officials said in an announcement. "The girls have been working hard on and off the stage to start this season off with a bang.

Running Oct. 14-31 is a special Halloween treat, with performance of "Dracula."

As explained in New London's most-recent announcement: "Everyone is familiar with the dark tale of Dr. Seward, his fiancée, Lucy, and their mysterious neighbor, Count Dracula, but here the events take on intensified effect through the heightened action and simplified staging of this fast-moving new version.

The Broadway Bound Children's Theatre is also opening up once again, and children may audition this weekend (Sept. 3) for sports in the upcoming play, "Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice." More information about the children's theatre and auditions can be found here.

Season tickets also are now available on New London's  ticket site.  Prices are $99 for adults, or $79 for seniors (55 and older) and students (3-19).
