Snellville Film Producer Receives Award at Georgia Entertainment Gala

Errol Sadler, along with Brandon Thaxton, of Atlanta, were recognized for their work under Supremacy Films.

Snellville film producer Errol Sadler was recently recognized at the Georgia Entertainment Gala held at the Georgia World Congress Center last Saturday (Jan. 11).

Sadler, along with business partner Brandon Thaxton, of Atlanta, both received the People to Watch in 2014 award for their work under their company, Supremacy Films.

"Friends, family and all supporters. This win is for you. This is motivation to anyone that has a goal," said Sadler.

The duo recently shot the movie "CurveBall" at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home in Snellville. The plot revolves around an inner-city high schooler who grows up without a father and is taught how to play baseball by a childhood friend. As he becomes one of the most sought-after baseball player in Georgia, the same friend introduces him to drugs.

The big stars in "CurveBall" include Rockmond Dunbar of "Sons of Anarchy" and "The Game" and Lynn Whitfield, who's been in "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Stepmom."

Sadler and Thaxton are still working on "CurveBall" and  aim to get the movie into film festivals such as Sundance, Cannes and Tribeca. The two have a previous film, "Echo at 11 Oak Drive," also starring Dunbar, that was at last year's Sundance and Cannes.
