Snellville Mayor, City Council to Perform in 'A Christmas Carol'

The performance will be held Dec. 1 at the Summit Chase Country Club.

Snellville Mayor Kelly Kautz and City Council members Barbara Bender, Dave Emanuel, Bobby Howard, Diane Krause and Tom Witts will be appearing in a production of "A Christmas Carol" in December.
The elected officials will have cameo roles to support the Snellville Arts Commission in the Charles Dickens classic, according to Kirk Buis of the commission. The production, in coalition with the Southern Gwinnett Community Arts, is a quirky rendition of Dickens’ story that is sure to delight.

The event, which costs $35 per ticket, includes dinner and a silent auction at the Summit Chase Country Club on Sunday, Dec. 1. A cash bar will be available from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with dinner from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The results of the silent auction will be announced at the end of dinner, followed by the performance.

Tickets may be purchased by calling Summit Chase Country Club at 770-979-9000. The Summit Chase County Club is located at 3197 Classic Dr. in Snellville.

All funds raised at the event by the Snellville Arts Commission are earmarked for bringing public art sculptures to Snellville. The commission plans to solicit sculptures between Jan. 1, 2014, to March 31, 2014, then in April, selecting up to three pieces. Those sculptures will be placed in Snellville’s downtown area in May.
