Snellville Wedding Venue to Celebrate Award From The Knot With Vow Renewal Party

Vecoma at the Yellow River in Snellville is hosting a wedding vow renewal party this Saturday (Dec. 21), the first day of winter, after being named a 2013 Hall of Fame award winner by The Knot. 

The Winter Solstice Vow Renewal is Vecoma's way of thanking its brides and grooms for helping it win the prestigious award by the famous wedding website and magazine. 

"[The couples] took the time to provide the reviews online that led to this prestigious award," said Executive Director Caroline Tucker. "I appreciate each of them for being so kind and loving with their words. This is a huge award for our family business, and Vecoma wants to do something very special for our brides."

Vecoma is the first and the only venue in Georgia to win the award, according to a news release.

At the mass vow renewal celebration, the lodge will display a wintery white décor. After the vows, a winter solstice dinner with white foods will be served, and Snellville's own Phoenix Cloggers will be performing. Winter solstice crowns also will be given out.

About 30 couples are expected to attend the complimentary event. 

"We want them all to wear their wedding dresses or a white dress with their original veil," said owner Judith Warren. "It is our sincerest wish for this to be a wonderful evening that coincides with the beginning of the winter celebrations." 

Chefs A.B. Bailey, Walter Reid and Novis Cody will be treated at the event for their time dedicated to Vecoma: Bailey and Reid have been at the venue for 17 years while Cody has been there for 10 years.

In addition to The Knot, WeddingWire's Brides' Choice Awards and Atlanta Bridal also gave nods to Vecoma this year. Nestled among 70 acres of forest, Vecoma offers a beautiful setting for weddings and special events inside and out. It has a riverside location and a lodge with soft, buttery walls, twinkle lighting, antiques and interesting little touches throughout that create a memorable space to hold a ceremony and reception.
