Snellville's Diana DeGarmo to Perform at Lenox Square on July 4

Country star Trace Adkins set for Channel 2's "Salute 2 America"

Snellville's own Diana DeGarmo will  perform at Lenox Square for WSB-TV's "Salute 2 America Celebration" on July 4, according to an annoucement Saturday from the TV station.

DeGarmo, a former Snellville resident and second-place finisher on "American Idol," is now performing on Broadway in the musical "9 to 5." Country star Trace Adkins will also perform on Channel 2's "Salute to America" special TV broadcast, with an "intimate" show taped at the station, the announcement said.

She and Adkins will perform musical tributes to the U.S. military, according to the announcement. The TV station will also broadcast the fireworks display at Lenox. The special begins at 10 p.m. on July 4.

Monica Pearson, anchor of Channel 2 Action News at 4 and 6 p.m., and sports anchor Zach Klein will host the station’s coverage of  the event. The television special will include stories from those who risk their lives for America, Channel 2 said.

Cadillac Jack & Dallas, of “Atlanta’s Country Morning” on KICKS 101.5, will host a special segment with members of the Armed Forces and their families. KICKS, along with Aaron’s, will present Adkins’ intimate concert performance recorded at Channel 2.
