I remember a good friend who raised his kids up with ours, whenever a plane would go by, he would point at the sky and say to his daughters; "boat...you see the boat?" Imagine that...a boat in the sky...when he saw a boat, he would point and say "plane...see the plane?" I have caught myself doing that too with my grandchildren and laughing. A plane in the water, a boat in the sky.....oh my imagine that!
Planes were designed to fly and boats were designed to float on water....birds were meant to fly and fish were meant to be in the water...right....what would happen if the fish were in the trees and the birds were trying to build nest in the water? They would kill them, right?
But what about us? We were designed for a purpose too, wasn't we? In the book of Genesis, it says we were design in God's image! We were designed to have Him in our lives.....so what happens when the fish is away from the water? Or the bird is away from flying? They die away...
In fact when we are away from God and His design, we die away on the inside first. We are not meant to live away from the Master; away from our Creator, we were meant to live with Him, in our hearts....living with Him in our fullness as we were designed, not as we designed it!
In my life; I have had that big huge hole in me....in fact I tried to fill that hole with other things and people and it never worked out....it was like trying slam that puzzle piece that does not go there. No matter what we try; drugs, alcohol, people, other addictions, even religions just does not fit.
I at the Church the other day for a wedding and was meeting some folks who have never been to our Church before and one of them when I asked if they attended Church somewhere told me "I do not like religions"....I said "me neither...in fact, I hate religion" and I do.....it is not about a religion, it is about finding that perfect fit, finding that relationship with Jesus.
Feeling emptiness, lonely, unhappy, sad..........fall in Love today with God through His Son.....why? Because He has already fallen in Love with you!
This coming Sunday 09/15/2013 is "Welcome Back To Church Sunday"...if you don't attend Church, find one......look Church is not the way to Heaven; ok? It is just a road sign!
