Chipotle, Cabana Grill Coming to Snellville

The two Mexican-style restaurants will be located on Scenic Highway.

Update: Cabana Grill to Bring New Concept to Snellville, Be First of Its Kind

------

Two new Mexican-style restaurants are expected to open in Snellville sometime in the near future.

According to Planning and Development Director Jon Davis, representatives with both Chipotle and Cabana Grill have been in talks with Snellville city officials to open along Scenic Highway.

Chipotle, a make-your-own gourmet burrito and taco eatery, intends to tear down the old Marble Slab stand-alone building in the Home Depot shopping center and construct a new building in its place. The new restaurant's address would be 1690 Scenic Hwy.

So far, an architect is working on plans and should be submitting them to the city soon so that demolition and construction can start. Chipotle's open date has not been shared with the city yet, Davis continued.

For Cabana Grill, the city has reviewed and recommended approval for all the restaurant's plans. From the site-planning standpoint, Davis said, "we're ready to move ahead whenever they wish to come in and get moving."

The restaurant would be located in the Lowe's shopping center at 1615 Scenic Hwy., across the street from the new Chipotle.

The Cabana Grill restaurant in Snellville will differ in style and food from its other restaurant locations, dubbed Taco Cabana around the country. The brand new concept will be the restaurant's first in the country, according to spokeswoman Brooke Feachen.

While Cabana Grill has only one Taco Cabana location in Georgia, there are dozens of Chipotle restaurants in the state, with five locations in Gwinnett County alone.
