Eastside Medical Center to Host Community Health Screening Event

The screening will be held Thursday, Sept. 19.

Eastside Medical Center and the H2U-Health to You program are hosting a community health screening event Thursday (Sept. 19). 

The screening will include the following: fasting blood sugar ($3.80); cholesterol ($5); total lipid profile which includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL; and cardiac risk factors ($17.90).

Also being offered will be free stroke assessments by Stroke Coordinator Charmane Johnson and free blood pressure checks. Participants should be at least 18 years old. 

Those taking part in the screening must fast from 8 p.m. the evening before with no more than a sip of water to take any required medication. They must provide their physician’s name, address and zip code at time of testing. Short sleeves must be worn and patients must provide a social security number for identification. 

A copy of the results will be mailed directly to patients and their physicians at no extra charge.

This event is open to the public. No pre-registration required. Participants will be served on a first come, first serve basis. The health screening will be offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sept. 19 in classrooms 1 and 2 at Eastside Medical Center, located at 1700 Medical Center.
