Former Snellville Businessman Opens New Service in Loganville

For several years, Thad Weed was known for his bird stores in Snellville and then in Loganville, Wild Birds Unlimited. Weed closed the last store in 2009, but he's decided to come out of retirement.

This time, he's going for a different line of work.

“I'm stepping back into the small business world again and starting an RV rental business here in Loganville,” Thad said, adding that he already has two travel trailers. “These are owned by Valet RV Rental LLC, which is a small business I created.”

Weed said for now he is only delivering to Stone Mountain Park and Fort Yargo State Campgrounds, but it is the valet part of the service that makes it so attractive for vacationers.

“RV owners’ hassles are towing the travel trailer, setting it up and towing it back to a storage facility. That's where Valet RV Rental comes in,” Weed said. “I handle all the hassles for you. All you have to do is drive to the campground and check-in, pull up to the camper and then begin enjoying the camping experience.”

Valet RV Rental website gives all the details of the service, including that - as was the case with Wild Birds Unlimited - it is a small, family-run business.

If you were in Loganville on Sunday, you may have seen one of Weed’s trailer’s set up in a parking lot alongside Highway 78.
