Gas Prices Have Dipped

It took some time, but gas prices have finally fallen in Snellville.

After speculation over the past few weeks, gas prices have fallen today in Snellville and throughout Georgia.

According to Georgia Gas Prices, a number of stations in Snellville are $3.79-$3.89 a gallon for regular-grade gas. That's down from last week, when most prices hovered at the $3.99 range.

On May 15, AAA showed that Georgia’s average price of $3.93 increased 5 cents from last week. And, that the national average of $3.96 a gallon had remained unchanged from the previous week. Now, that some prices have dipped midweek, averages could also decrease.

Last week, oil prices continued to trade below $100 a barrel last week to settle Friday at $99.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange—$2.47 more than the previous week. Still, AAA said earlier this week that consumers could expect lower prices in the future.

“Retail gas prices still remain relatively unchanged from last week, however with two concurrent weeks of oil trading below $100, consumers should start to see gas prices drop—albeit slow and steady," said Jessica Brady, spokesperson, AAA Auto Club South.
