Know Before You Go: Restaurant Health Inspections

Results of recent Gwinnett County restaurant inspections in Snellville by East Metro Public Health with a synopsis of deficiencies found by the inspector. These are reports over the past week.

July 20

Name: Enzo's Pizza
Location: 3070 Hwy. 78
Score: 87/B
Previous Scores: 75/C (7/13/12), 81/B (5/21/12)
Deficiencies observed: Chicken not cooked to the minimum required internal temperature for food safety, Cheesecake slices have been re-labeled with a new prep date and are still being held in the lobby beverage cooler. The cheesecake slices have sticker labels which show July 13th. On the bottom of the containers, July 6th is written by hand. An additional routine inspection will be completed in the coming months.

Name: Barnes and Noble 
Location: 1350 Scenic Hwy. Suite 100
Score: 97/A

Deficiencies observed: Employee wearing watch while prep food. Watch removed and employee washed hands. Only allowed jewelry is plain ring. while prep food.

Score: 86/B

Deficiencies observed: Black beans in oil and garlic in oil stored out in prep area and above 41. Soy sauce buckets being reused to store food and bulk products.

Name: Carmike Cinema
Location: 1905 Scenic Hwy. Suite 6000
Score: 88/B

Deficiencies observed: The ice machines for both the A-side and B-side concession stands have mold growth accumulated at the internal cavity, baffle, and upper ice chutes. Cheese sauce dispenser chute is unclean with dried food debris. At the base of the dispenser, there is a drippage spot from today's use.  Cheese sauce dispenser is heavily encrusted with thick residue inside.
