Know Before You Go: Restaurant Health Inspections

Results of recent Gwinnett County restaurant inspections in Snellville by East Metro Public Health with a synopsis of deficiencies found by the inspector. These are reports over the past week.

June 7:

Deficiencies observed: Loose metal filaments were in deep fryer metal basket, the store had to replace with new baskets.

Deficiencies observed: Hand-washing sink blocked by trash can and container of chips, garden hose hooked to hand sink for maintenance work, beverage dispensing nozzlea had black "mold-like" substance growing on them, container of chips stored on trash can, and numerous plastic food containers contained cracks, broken or jagged edges.

Deficiencies observed: Employees not washing hands after touching dirty dishes, hand-washing sink being used to rinse equipment for milkshakes, ice bin had "mold-like" substance, some cold-held and hot-held foods not at right temperature, and boxes of cups stored on floor.

Deficiencies observed: Bathrooms without signs about hand-washing, and no door sweeper on a rear door.

Location: 2276 Snellville Plaza

Deficiencies observed: No test strips for sanitizer, and door to restroom was not self-closing. (Doors to restrooms are supposed to be self-closing and able to close. This was a repeat violation and must be fixed by July 6, or owners risk further sanctions.)
