Recreation

Summer Riding Camp, Jolly Rogers Farm, Caleb Road, Snellville. The first session is June 20-24, 2011 for ages 8-11; second session runs July 11-15 for ages 12-16. Camp hours are 9am-4pm, except Fridays, which is a little longer due to the horse show that’s part of the camp. Each session costs $350.

There also will be an overnight camp at Watson Mill Bridge State Park in Comer, Georgia June 6-10, 2011 for ages 8 and up, experienced riders only, no beginners. Cost is $400, no discounts.

If horseback riding is your child’s thing, Jolly Rogers Farm is the place to be this summer. The Summer Riding Camp is described as a non-competitive, skills-oriented camp. Toss that in with a pizza party, the horse show, bowling and other activities, and it seems to be a well-rounded camp, too. Up to 8 campers are accepted in each session with two instructors/counselors. To learn more, visit the web site or call 404-217-2260.
