Local Businesses Offer Unique Holiday Gifts

Looking for gift ideas? These small, local businesses offer something for everyone.

It's Nov. 1, and Walmart already has Christmas on its shelves! If you haven't started shopping yet, consider these unique gifts available locally.

Honor a veteran in your life with a brick in the Veterans Memorial. Available for a little over $100, the brick will be part of a large memorial on Oak Road and will include an "eternal flame" and continuous flow waterfall. Be a part of Snellville history while giving a unique, meaningful gift.

Purchase a gift certificate from About Face Skin Care/About Mind and Body, a local med-spa that specializes in nonsurgical facelifts and general skin care. They also offer yoga, pilates and other classes in their newly launched Mind and Body center.

Other gift certificate options are lessons in Japanese Swordsmanship, dance or art.

Cakes and pies. Rhodes Bakery, near the intersection of Highway 78 and 124, has some amazing pastries that would go over well with anyone. Their petite fours are inexpensive, delicious and a great choice for co-workers. So are their gingerbread men!

Purchase a Snellville Pride shirt from 'Merica Clothing line, owned by Snellville native David Yarbrough. He's only 21, but his clothing line is already doing well.

And of course, you can never go wrong with a gift from A&J Jewelers. Right now, they're offering a free iPad 3 with a Tacori brand purchase of $3,000 or more. Van Adams jeweler is another locally owned business with fantastic quality jewelry, as is Barron's, both located on Scenic Highway.
