Snellville Native Brings Business Home

Snellville native Jamey Toney is coming home to Snellville and bringing his business with him.

On Friday, Oct. 26, city council, staff and members of Snellville Tourism and Trade welcomed Toney and his wife, Meghan, home with a ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of the grand opening of Jamey Toney Financial Services.

Toney is an insurance agent with Cotton States – soon to be Country Financial – and excited to bring his business back to his old stomping ground.

"My family lives here," said Toney, "and I want to continue to raise my own family here."

The location -- across from Snellville Oaks on East Main Street -- and exposure are great, according to Toney.

Not only does Toney sell insurance, he is also a Charter Financial Consultant. Few people in town have that designation.

Toney graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in economics and has been in the insurance business for seven years. He is passionate about helping others, something that is evident after business hours as well.

On Oct. 5 and 6, he participated in the Great Days of Service with the Gwinnett Sunrise Rotary, of which he is a member. Their service project involved painting the carpool line at Anderson Livsey elementary school, along with a hopscotch area at the playground.

Toney enjoys the volunteering aspect of the Rotary Club and “making a difference in people’s lives.”

“That’s why I joined,” he said. “There is a networking aspect to it, but for me it’s the community involvement and helping others in our local community.”

Toney attended and graduated from Shiloh High School. He plans to become an active member of the community and looks forward to seeing Snellville grow.
