Snellville resident joins rapidly expanding national mortgage company

PrivatePlus Mortgage, a division of Private Bank of Buckhead, has named Snellville's Shawnetta Coward an Underwriter. She says she truly enjoys analyzing borrowers’ information to see how it fits loan parameters.

“Shawnetta began her mortgage career as a loan processor, becoming a processing manager who led her team to closing an average of 30 loans per processor on a team of almost 30, so she brings a terrific perspective and depth of experience to her work,” says Dan Smith, President of PrivatePlus. “Shawnetta also is highly organized, which is increasingly vital to our work.”

The New Jersey native grew up in Southern California, and worked her way through college – as a cook and baker, specializing in vegan and no-fat baking. Not surprisingly, to this day she is no fan of preservatives in food.

“This is a variable industry that is always changing, which makes it exciting,” Coward says. “The details of mortgages keep you on your toes and ensures there is never a dull moment. It’s fast-paced and increasingly focused on asset documentation.”

She lives in Snellville with her husband and two sons. Away from PrivatePlus, Coward still enjoys baking, as well as traveling, and is proud to have lost 60 pounds. She also volunteers, along with her eldest son, at the Atlanta Food Bank, and takes as her motto, “Being nice is reciprocal!”

PrivatePlus Mortgage promises great products, pricing, and processes. It offers a full range of mortgage products: Purchase, Refinance, Investment, Jumbo products, Second home, Construction, Multiple collateral, Fixed second, Home equity, Lot loan, and more. It is located in Piedmont Center (Building Three), and does business nationally; see Web site for geographical restrictions: www.PrivatePlusMortgage.com. In addition to the mortgage division, Private Bank of Buckhead also includes a Decatur location known as Private Bank of Decatur.
