Fundraiser at South Gwinnett Football Game for Rineharts

Despite some setbacks, the raffle and T-shirt sale will go on as planned.

Tomorrow evening, a fundraiser will be held at South Gwinnett High during the home game.  Tickets for a raffle will go on sale at 5 p.m.

All donations and sales will go through Operation Appreciation, a 501c3 nonprofit created for members of the National Guard who are in need.

The fundraiser is a coordinated effort between Donna Aker, the president of the Gwinnett County Association of Educators, Dana Doster, the president of the South Gwinnett Booster Club, and the South Gwinnett athletic director Rodney Born.

Earlier this afternoon, the Rineharts were informed that a raffle was against school policy. After scrambling for the right documentation, including proof of a license to run a raffle, the fundraiser is back on.

T-shirts will also be sold during the game.

Hannah Rinehart is still in a medically-induced coma, but is steadily getting better. With the loss of her income and Mark Rinehart's paid-time off running out, the fundraisers will help with the costs associated with prosthetics and home renovations.
