"I wasn't reading it from a news outlet, I was reading it from her father's Facebook post, from her father's status. And, it just hit me. I was floored. I was just sitting there staring at my phone, like Oh my God.

Like, just the tragedy, and just feeling.. You know, I really, I felt the pain that her father was feeling as he's typing that. What a horrible thing for any parent to have to go through. And, the song just came out."

To Copeland, he said: "Just know that my thoughts and prayers and the thoughts and prayers of so many other people around the world are with you, and we're rooting for you."

(Durkin indicated that anyone would be willing to drive him from Nashville to Augusta next week to perform for Aimee Copeland to please contact him. Find more about Durkin and contact information on his website.)
