No Georgia Winner in Mega Millions Jackpot

There were three winning tickets, and none of them came from Georgia. Where were they?

If you live in Georgia and you're waking up to check you ticket or tickets, forget about it!

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday evening in our state. Reports indicate that three tickets sold in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland matched all six numbers, according to the Georgia Lottery website.

The estimated amount last night grew to an incredible $640 million -- the highest ever in the world.

The eight states that do not play mega millions may be thinking we're all suckers here in the peach state. But, there was always just a slim chance -- 1 to 176 million -- that anyone would win.

The winners of the $640 million now know something of the positive end of those long odds. They will split the jackpot.

The next drawing for Mega Millions will be April 3, 2012. The jackpot is estimated at $12 million.

Who knows, you could still be a winner in that.
