Patch in Review: April 3 - April 9

Your weekly rewind from Snellville Patch.

If you're like me, your weeks quickly fall into the blur category when you move into the next. What happened last Monday? Usually, I cannot tell you immediately; I have to think about it. You're in luck. I have done the thinking for me and for you regarding last week's news on Snellville Patch. I'm only highlighting top stories of the week.

April 3: The most-read story this day was our feature on the The organizers of Snellville's newest half-marathon are known for their bike race circuit, which brings droves of people to local cities. Now, they're starting a half-marathon series, and Snellville is the first stopping point. Kudos to the city!

April 4: This was kind of a crazy day. Just when I was taking a smoothie break, an email comes across that there is a shooting on Anderson-Lisvey Lane in Snellville (unincorporated). I was in Tucker with my dog, so I ran home to drop her off, and then high-tailed it down Rockbridge Road to get there. Bad news. by men who entered an unsecured screen door. We still do not know what the men wanted, a week later.

April 5: Aside from the Monday shooting the most-popular story this day had to be the little write-up on . She was one of three winners of roughly $60,000. I called her, and talked to her, and it's safe to say that she does not play the lottery a lot, and that the win was shocking.

April 6: Actually the most-read story this day was one we posted on April 5. Crystal Huskey did a great job about She highlighted Pharr Elementary, and we talked to quite a few people. With it being Autism Awareness Month, I thought a story on the subject was timely. People are still reccommending it on Facebook.

April 7: My metrics were a little late today, so I don't have a complete idea of what the main story was. There were definitely people still reading the autism story, the piece on the man being killed in Snellville, and the lottery story. However, I did see that our Viewfinder by Jennifer Silas got some traction. She went to , and from the looks of the photos, seems people enjoyed themselves.

April 8: Without fail, the most-read stories on Fridays are the. They always seem to get a lot of readers. The crime and fire section of the site got a big boost, though, after I wrote a story about man suspected of Quite a few people have recommended it. Alexander Brown is charged with stalking, making terroristic threats, peeping tom and criminal trespass. Later, I got an email from someone asking why Snellville Patch had to write the story. Well, it's a story about an arrest unique to Snellville, and it's information about public safety.

April 9: This day most of the readers also came to look at police and fire stories. Most likely, new people were going on to read about Snellville's cyber stalking arrest. But, we also posted a story with in the police blotter from April 8. There was a cocaine arrest that caught my eye, so we wrote about that, along with a case of illegal blue lights and a harassing phone call.
